What type of Customs Bond is this?
Our Continuous Customs Bond is an Activity Code 1 Import Bond. The bond provides $50,000 of coverage.
What is the $50,000 bond amount based on?
The bond amount is based on 10% of the duties, taxes, and fees paid to Customs within a 12-month period. If you’re a first-time importer, this amount can be estimated based on your expected duties, taxes, and fees to be paid. For previous importers, the bond amount can be calculated based on the previous year’s duties, taxes, and fees paid, along with the upcoming year.
Do you offer Single Entry Bonds?
We do offer Single Entry Bonds, also known as Single Transaction Bonds. However, we don’t offer these as a standalone product. We can provide a Single Entry Bond alongside customs clearance services when we act as the Customs Broker for your import shipment(s).
Additionally, in most cases, if you plan to import more than 1 shipment in a 12-month period, it’s more affordable to purchase a Continuous Customs Bond.
